Silversmith-designer Bertel Gardberg (1916–2007) brooked no compromise in following his dream. This master craftsman was also convinced that the hands are inherently the key to realising new concepts in various materials. No machine could be capable of this.
One of the great names in Finnish design, Gardberg became a member of the Academy of Finland in 1982 and is renowned for his sophisticated design approach. The distinguished design specialist Tauno Tarna, a long-term colleague of Gardberg, was involved in the work of modernising the Lion range.
