Bicolter is a Spanish design studio made up by Olivia Salcedo and Saulo Santana. They met each other in the Catalan capital of Barcelona while studying Product Design and set up the studio in 2012 right after graduation.
Since then, Bicolter has put its name on not just spectacular furniture but also lightning and small accessories. They mainly find their inspiration from daily work around shapes and materials – but also through research on culture and the consciousness of object’s meaning and perceived functionality.
Bicolter practices a peculiar dialogue between intangible and tangible languages. They try to discover new possibilities of understanding an object by questioning and reflecting on every step in the design process until they find the right “chord” they were searching for. In proposing these new lines of thought, the goal is to create real improvements in the link between people and objects.
