Royal Copenhagen, officially the Royal Porcelain Factory (Den Kongelige Porcelænsfabrik in Danish) was founded in 1775 under the protection of Queen Juliane Marie. Its factory mark, three wavy lines above each other, symbolises Denmark’s three straits; Øresund, the Great Belt and the Little Belt. The hand-painted Blue Fluted Mega series was designed in 2000 by Karen Kjældgård-Larsen and interprets the classic Blue Fluted design from 1775. Mixing the different Royal Copenhagen patterns makes a great and modern dinner set.
