Sanna Annukka was born in Brighton in 1983. Her mother is Finnish and her father English. Her whole childhood was split between being in Paltaniemi, Finland (where her mother is from) and Brighton. Every summer was spent in Paltaniemi, a beautiful village by the Oulujarvi lake, exploring forests, fishing, swimming and having saunas. Sanna Annukka also travelled around Lapland with her family, camping by artic rivers. These childhood days in Finland is a major influence on her work. Sanna Annukka has lived in Brighton for 10 years, she pursued her art studies there and graduated from the University of Brighton with a BA hons in Illustration. Sanna Annukka works from home.
