Søren Ulrik Petersen (born 1961) trained as a cabinet maker in the work shop of Hos Wulff's Møbelsnedkeri, Copenhagen completing his apprenticeship in 1985 prior to continuing his education at the Danish Design School. Gaining his degree in Design 1990, Søren Ulrik Petersen returned to teach for a year at the Design School in 1998. Since opening his own design studio in 1991 SUP Design has completed freelance projects for amongst others Tuborg, Royal Copenhagen, Georg Jensen, PP Møbler, Louis Poulsen, Normann Copenhagen and Källermo. Between 2000 and 2002 he completed a three year working scholarship sponsered by The Danish Arts Foundation. Since 2001 Søren Ulrik Petersen has been Chairman of the influential Danish SE Group founded in 1980.
