Material:
Besides a charming visual expression entirely made in thermo-treated ash,
the craftsmanship behind the geometrical sculptures is quite extraordinary.
It takes nothing less than 16 weeks to produce the wooden sculptures and
working towards this unique expression demands meticulous attention and
patience.
The thermo treatment is a heat-treating process, which involves heating the
wood to a temperature of 180-215 °C, while at the same time protecting it
with steam. It is a process which is 100% natural, since no harmful chemicals
are added. It increases durability and colours the wood in a golden
dark brown tone all the way through.
The tiny sculptures are glued before milling and the material is untreated.
