Mette N. Handberg is one of Norway's foremost knitwear and textile designers. Not only has she displayed her work at numerous exhibitions, including Norway's National Museum of Decorative Arts and the annual National Exhibition of Applied Arts, but her works have been purchased and commissioned by the Norwegian Council of Cultural Affairs and the National Cathedral of Nidaros. She has garnered many awards, including best ski sweater (World Championships, 1995), and her designs were chosen for Princess Martha Louise of Norway (1990) and as the official sweater for the US Ski and Snowboard Teams (2006 - 2007) by Dale of Norway. She is also the author of Strikk til smaafolk (Knitting for Children) and Norwegian Patterns for Knitting published by Trafalgar Square Books in 2010.
