Originally designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the new buildings at the University of Copenhagen, Copenhague by HAY is a timeless series of furniture that blends functionality with a cohesive expression. To meet the university’s design wishes and ergonomic requirements for “A strong, sensual, stackable wooden chair”, the designers needed to create furniture that was aesthetically appealing, stackable, durable and easy to clean. The result is an original and welcoming collection configured around a minimalistic A-frame that fulfils all the design criteria and blends design history with innovative design
