The BIG Chair Project with Jamie Oliver
Republic of Fritz Hansen store
11 October 2012
Decorated by some top names in fashion, art and design such as Sir Paul Smith, Christopher Bailey for Burberry, Tracey Emin, Cath Kidston, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and Quentin Blake, the Ant chairs will be auctioned to raise money for Jamie Oliver's Better Food Foundation charity which receives all profits from Fifteen to empower young people by training them for careers in the restaurant industry. The collection of decorated Ant chairs were revealed at the Republic of Fritz Hansen store operated by Skandium on the 20th August and will be exhibited during London Design Festival before being auctioned at the store on the 11th October. The auction will also include a customised Egg chair and footstool by Jamie Oliver. There is also an online auction open from now that ends 9th October at 23.59pm, and a lottery that ends 12th October at 23.59pm. For more information about the BIG Chair project and to participate in the auction or lottery, please visit www.thebigchairproject.org
In addition to this worthy celebration of the Ant chair's 60th Anniversary, Fritz Hansen for the first time introduces the Ant chair in dark stained oak with dark stained edging, offering a more complete finish. The Ant in dark stained oak with dark stained edging will be available from October 2012.
