Malene Birger is a renowned Danish fashion designer, famous for her impeccable taste and uncompromising style. Her boutique in Copenhagen has been nominated by the international trend magazine Wear Global Copenhagen as one of the world's finest in terms of design and decor. Malene Birger’s interest in design begun at an early age, inspired by her grandmother, as well as her mother’s sharp eye for fashion and trends. In 1989 Malene Birger completed her first Fashion Design degree at the prestigious Danish Design School and started her remarkable career, first as fashion Designer at Jackpot by Carli Gry and then as Head Designer of Women's wear at Marc O'Polo, Stockholm till 1996. In 1997 she established her first company, Day Birger et Mikkelsen. And in 2003 'By Malene Birger' was founded in corporation with IC Company A/S. Malene Birger has received several prestigious awards. In 2004 she received a Scandinavian Design Award, Costume Norway chose By Malene Birger as 'Best Brand of the Year' in 2007 and in 2008.
