Born in 1962, Maria Uggla has a Master of Fine Art in Industrial Design from the School of Design and Craft at Gothenburg University. Since 2001 she works as industrial designer the car company Volvo, responsible for for colours & trims, most recently working on the S40 and V50 models. Before Volvo, she was a designer of white goods at Electrolux, based at their Industrial Design Centre in Stockholm. Maria Uggla also worked as a freelance designer for Hackman Hammarplast and for Höganäs Keramik, where she designed a thermos and a coffee cup. She drives a Volvo - of course!
