Belgian designer Marina Bautier, born in 1980, is a brand new member of our team. Marina is young, but has already attracted much attention for her furniture. Wallpaper magazine recently gave her the award 'Best use of Material: wood". For Swedese she sure enough has designed an easy chair with an elegant frame by wood - so beautiful and well reasoned that we already dare call it at coming classic.
A design approach based on use. Belgian Marina Bautier creates furniture and objects that render many services without encumbering the design. While she gives priority to simple structures and materials, she also carefully considers appearance and implementation qualities. Shying away from technological rhetoric, Marina emphasizes the beauty and the modernity of familiar materials - especially of wood.
Born in Brussels 1980, Marina Bautier graduated from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College and set up her design practice in 2002. She has since gone on to refine her own deft design language, to produce work for manufacturers such as Ide, De La Espada, Ligne Roset, Case and Swedese. Marina Bautier was spotted as the names we're watching by Elle Decoration UK in 2007 and has been awarded Best use of Material: wood by Wallpaper Magazine.
