Martin was born and raised in the Norwegian seaport Arendal, which is located on the southeastern coast towards Skagerrak – the straight that connects Denmark, Sweden and Norway. For Skagerak, which shares its name with the straight, this little detail is of course something worth noticing.
Martin has been living and working as a carpenter in Denmark since 2005. In 2014 he got his master degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and already the year after, he received the Young Talent Award given by the Norwegian Design Council. Internationally, his projects have been exhibited on great design scenes in Milano, London, New York, Paris and Stockholm, which highlights Martin’s rapid development as a designer during the past 10 years.
