As inspiration has the habit of coming unexpected, Siv has made it a virtue to pay attention to both trivial and novel actions and settings in her daily life. The idea for a new design can be sparked while watching a film, listening to music or by simply observing human behaviour. Hiking in the mountains surrounding her hometown is also essential for her creative work.
Siv grew up in the west coast city of Bergen in Norway, where she took her MA in furniture design from Bergen Academy of Art and Design. After graduation she established her studio in Bergen as well, from where she today endeavours to create playful designs that are long-lasting in both a functional and aesthetic sense. Another important aspect of her design is to encourage some sort of interaction with the user.
