Søren Georg Jensen (1917-1982) was the son of the company's founder Georg Jensen and was, in his own right, a successful sculptor and silversmith producing many iconic works as well as adorning the streets of Copenhagen with many sculptural monuments. Søren Georg Jensen drew inspiration from the artistic movement of functionalism where design was kept taut, simple and often geometric. His contemporaries included prominent Danish architects and sculptors such as Arne Jacobsen and Henning Koppel. During his final years he was Artistic Director at Georg Jensen continuing his father's artistic spirit, vision and philosophy for a new generation of artists.
