Tuula Kaakinen, Finland, was trained as a fashion designer. She is interested in new ideas, old materials and the combination of the two. Apart from clothes she also designs many other things; she enjoys using recyclable waste material in her designs. Her fabric Guada received an honourable mention in at the Design Meet The User competition held by Marimekko in 2006.
