On both the opaque and crystal globes, the lid is an integral invisible component, and at last it has perfected the globe concept. Completed with a transparent acrylic cross, the rest of the hanging structure and the electric cables are assembled in a single cord. “If you want to shape an interior space with light, you really need an uncompromising light source.
So it’s no wonder my dream was a globe as perfect as the full moon, with no shadows – just pure iridescent light,” says designer Alexander Lervik. His design career has produced bright surprises, with a glowing door handle and an incandescent suitcase; he has also illuminated 3D images of brain scans, all in that exciting space between art and design.
The new Luna crystal version comes with a specially shaped LED bulb, which further enhances the design of the lamp. The crystal version comes in sizes M and L and the opaque is also available in S; all are dimmable.
The opaque XL version is 50 percent bigger than the L version, offering a diameter of fully 60 cm. And still: it has no visible hanging mechanism or lid, and just one cable. Add the Kosmos hanger in white or black-lacquered metal to further highlight the contrast between light and space.
