The structure of this Swedish classic is lightweight, yet stable. String is simple to assemble and the shelves can be easily repositioned.
Books are kept in place by the side panels, and shelves of different depths can be combined in the same unit.
When more shelf space is needed, simply add an extra side panel and shelves. Cupboards and writing tables can also be added. It is equally suited to a large or small wall.

Nisse Strinning (1917-2006) is the father of the legendary String shelving and furniture system. Nisse Strinning was married to Kajsa Strinning, also a designer, who together with her husband developed the String system. The shelving was originally designed in 1949
