Arctander sofa with armrests - fabric
In 1944, architect Philip Arctander designed a chair, which today has become a design classic under the name Muslingestolen / Arctander chair.
In 2016, Paustian put the iconic chair into production and today, with its light expression, the soft upholstered shape and the rounded legs, it has become a reference in furniture design.
The Paustian Arctander Sofa - also known as the Mussel Sofa, follows in the footsteps of the Mussel Chair. Designed in 1944 by Philip Arctander and put into production in 2020 in a collaboration between Paustian and Philip Arctander's granddaughter, Sofie Arctander.
The Arctander Sofa is produced as part of the Paustian Furniture Collection in a wide range of colors and materials - including new variants in Dedar Milano, Storr from Bute Fabrics, an authentic hand-woven piece of textile from McNutt and varieties in sheepskin.
The sofa is available with and without armrests and legs in oak, ash or walnut. For the collection, a footstool, a sofa and a coffee table have also been launched in 2020.
