Embrace Lounge Chair E015

By Carl Hansen

  • Description

The elegant Embrace Lounge Chair reveals an innovative, lightweight construction based on the same concept as the Embrace Chair, but with different proportions.

The Embace Lounge Chair E015 designed by Austrian design trio EOOS is the latest addition to the distinct Embrace Series that also includes the Embrace Chair and Embrace footstool.

In its own laid-back manner, the Embrace Lounge Chair exudes the same inviting air as the Embrace Chair, the floating expression emphasizing the link between the two designs. The wooden frame EOOS has created for the series is characterized by the lightness, craftsmanship and quality that reflect Carl Hansen & Søn's unique DNA.

The chair frame is crafted from wood and visible from all angles. The curved back is formed from three pieces of wood connected by classic finger joints.

  • Designer
Acclaimed Austrian design trio, EOOS, formed their studio in 1995 and has received more than 130 international awards to date. Established in Vienna, the EOOS trio is comprised of Gernot Bohmann, Harald Gründl and Martin Bergmann. Founded in a strong sense of modern aesthetics, EOOS operates in the fields of furniture and product design as well as shop design for clients such as Giorgio Armani, Adidas, Alessi, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and bulthaup. The design trio considers design a poetic discipline whose end result should always be able to accommodate the user's changing needs and desires. EOOS approaches the often-complex design challenges by analyzing past roots and contemporary context. Termed 'Poetical Analysis', EOOS' process focuses on myths, rituals and intuitive expressions, creating connections that go beyond immediate impressions. In 2015 Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art celebrated the work of EOOS with the first major solo exhibition. Alongside their numerous international awards, EOOS has over 15 technical patents to date. In 2007, the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) and the readers of the daily newspaper "Die Presse" nominated the EOOS-founders "Austrians of the Year" in the Creative Industries.
