Indulgence Champagne Vase

By Georg Jensen

£90.00

  • Description

The COCKTAIL champagne cooler was introduced by Georg Jensen in 2008 and became a fast favourite for its minimalist shape and the effortless way it chilled a bottle.

Festive and elegant, designer Helle Damkjær combined the joy of special occasions and the ease of everyday. Now, the collection is expanded with the introduction of two tall vases. With a narrowed neck and relatively small opening, they are designed to hold just a few flowers at a time. A small bouquet or even a single flower ensures that the sleek design language of the vase is as important a decorative element as the flowers are.

The mirror polished stainless steel reflects the contents of the vase too, reminding us that sometimes you only need a light touch to make a lasting impression.

    Helle Damkjær

The search for the perfect shape and colour, which forever brings us joy and a higher quality of life, have brought graphic and industrial designer Helle Damkjær all over the world. As a result of her work at leading design studios in Milan, London, Paris, Chicago and Düsseldorf, Helle Damkjær is today a renowned designer. After many years of working with some of the world's most innovative design firms in Milan, New York and London, Helle Damkjær has been living with her family in Paris since 1997.

She has a studio there and works as a graphic artist, producer and designer. Her style is elegant and sharp, yet soft and harmonious. Her minimalist, organic approach, combined with her attention to detail, gives her designs a harmonious presence. She calls her designs "environmentally aware harmony." Damkjær is in some ways the heiress to the Danish design legacy: her minimalist functionality coincides with beautiful shapes for an overall effect that is - across the board - gorgeous. Like her minimalist predecessors, Damkjær has an exceptional sense for shapes and colours and is particularly sensitive to their effect on the beholder.

Damkjær achieves the maximum effect with the most modest resources. The subjects of her beautiful, round shapes can also be found in the creation of the Bloom bowl for Georg Jensen, on display at MoMA, the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
