Toad lamp consists of three parts; a hand-blown opal glass shade, an oak wood base part and a textile-coated cable. Scandinavian design language is also present in the selection of the materials. Authentic materials glass and wood give the lamp a high-class feeling. Special Finnish woodworking skills are necessary for manufacturing the base part. The lamps work perfectly alone but they like the company of others. The name of the Toad lamp comes from Super Mario´s mushroom friend Toad. Niskanen´s first touch with the world of games was Nintendo´s Super Mario. The Toad lamp is a sympathetic and helpless creature which shines its innocence around.
