Tools Frying pan

By iittala

  • Description

The Tools frying pan is made of compound materials, which are ideal for use in cookware. The steel surface is durable and easy to care for. The inner aluminium core between the steel layers conducts heat well, ensuring that food is heated evenly and rapidly. Outer surface is satin finish steel and inner surface is ball blasted steel.

Uncoated pans need oil or butter prior to use. Suitable for all hobs and oven. Dishwasher safe. Always cool a hot pan completely before washing. Let the pan dry upside down. Metal tools may be used with care, but might cause scratches to the surface. Appearing of scratches, heat stains and discoloration after use is possible, but they are only visual changes and don't effect on functionality or safety.

  • Designer
    Björn Dahlström

A man of many talents, the Swede Björn Dahlström (born 1957) has a background in advertising and graphics but has designed as far apart products as a pneumatic drill for Atlas Copco, furniture for Cbi and Zoltan Milano, electrical appliances for Krupps, textiles for Marimekko, toys for Playsam and the now classic Tools kitchenware series for Hackman and iittala. Amongst his other designs are a futuristic tent and a stylish bicycle for Skeppshult.

The use of contrasting colours, curved shapes, large scales and unusual materials always make the Dahlström designs humorous while both functional and pleasing to the eye. His work is represented both at the National Museum in Stockholm and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
