At first glance, Allan Scharff’s Simple pieces could not be more different than the romantic, arts and craft style of Georg Jensen. However, they both spring from the same source, nature. Georg Jensen always claimed that nature was his greatest inspiration. The same is true for Scharff. Allan Scharff began his professional career with Georg Jensen at the age of 18, where he earned an apprentice certificate as a silversmith specialized in hollowware. Since then, many designs have been developed within hollowware, jewellery, and glass. During the years, Scharff has received many awards and his work has been widely exhibited worldwide. Today, Allan Scharff works out of a studio in Copenhagen designing and executing jewellery and hollowware, many of them commissioned pieces.
