Paris Chair - Natural
Paris Chair is designed by Arne Jacobsen and is handmade of Indonesian sustainable rattan. The chair is made in the colour natural, which is original and suitable for every occasion. The fine bindings in the seat and back are made by skilled wicker workers. The Paris chair was the first chair the famous Arne Jacobsen designed, even before graduating as an architect. In 1925 it was presented at the Paris-Art-Deco exhibition and won a silver medal, hence the name of the paris Chair.
In France, he subsequently saw the "Le Corbusier's L'espirit Nouveau" pavilion, which inspired his following work. In 1929 he won a gold medal for his ultra-modern concept of "The House of Future". The house was built for the exhibition and cemented Arne Jacobsen as one of the most visionary and progressive Danish architects of his time. The Paris chair is revolutionary for the history of the wicker furniture.
The lounge chair contributes a natural element in the living room or in a holiday home. A cushion can be purchased for the Paris chair in any optional fabric, sewn on their Danish sewing department. We also offer to sew cushions in your own fabric, please contact us or more information about material use. Sika-Design has had the rights for producing and marketing the Charlottenborg chair by Arne Jacobsen since 2014.
