Description
The CH23 Dining Chair was one of the first chairs Hans J. Wegner designed for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1950.
HIs collection of designs at this time set new standards for modern furniture design with their lightness, artistic expression and ergonomic shape. The chair offered an early example of Wegner's unique flair for design and his insightful craftsmanship.
It had been out of production for the past five decades but was reintroduced to the market in 2017.
The CH23 chair's seemingly simple design reveals many refined details, including the elegant, cruciform deck plugs in the back, a double-braided seat and a slightly outward-facing inclination on the rear legs, which ensures optimal stability. The design is, as always, true to Wegner's original hand-drawn sketches with all aesthetic and structural components intact.
