Kalo is a modern reinterpretation of the classic cobbler’s lamp, designed by Axel Bjurström. This versatile light fixture is suitable for a variety of settings, from homes to boardrooms and restaurants, and works well alone or in groups over tables, bar counters, and lobbies. With its minimalist design, the lamp combines a bulb and conical shade to cast a soft, downward light. The frosted glass shade, which can be easily removed for cleaning or changing the bulb, emits a gentle glow ideal for both work and leisure. The dimmable LED feature allows for adjustable lighting to suit any environment.
Bjurström emphasizes the straightforwardness of the design, from the sandblasted glass shade to the textile suspension cord, available in black or white. Kalo's shade is stronger and more durable than the original cobbler’s lamp and is even dishwasher-safe. Retaining the traditional charm of its 19th-century predecessor, Kalo refines the original design, simplifying it for modern use while preserving its historical connection.
