Description
The J16 is the undisputed classic among the many rocking chairs designed by Hans J. Wegner over the years. Ask a Dane to think of a rocking chair and they will probably have the image of this chair in mind.
The rocking chair was introduced by FDB Furniture in 1944 and has been in production ever since. In his chair design, Wegner stressed the importance of freedom of movement and ergonomics – as epitomised by the rocking chair. It is a much-cherished setting for reading, knitting and even nursing babies. Wegner also designed a footstool to accompany the rocking chair.
Both rocking chair and footstool have hand-woven seats in natural paper yarn, available in either natural or black.
Chair and stool frame available in beech and oak in the following finishes: beech clear lacquered or soaped, oak clear lacquered versions, soaped, oiled or black lacquered. See downloadable pdf for colour examples.
